With the nation biting its nails over the must-win World Cup game against the mighty footballing power of Slovenia, we have some interesting figures for depressed English fans who also own holiday rentals in Spain.
Co-operative Travel have crunched the numbers from past tournaments and there is a marked increase in bookings when England lose.
The last time England crashed out of the world cup on penalties (remember Portugal, 2006?) there was a marked increase in holiday bookings.
It seems sad fans console themselves by booking a holiday.
The firm is expecting 15,000 extra bookings in the event of an early exit for Mr Capello's team - bookings that wouldn't have happened should we perform better. That represents an additional £10.5m for the travel industry.
So if England fail to deliver the goods today, villa owners needn't be too sad. It could do wonders for your summer bookings calendar and profit margins.
Come on Slov... erm... no... Eng-er-land!
Score update: England 1-0 Slovenia (Less than convincing, boys)
