Holiday rentals surge after Goldtrail failure

Lates High enquiry levels are continuing at España Breaks, particularly over the past 7 days when we have been delivering record levels of interest to second home owners who advertise with us.

If you are an owner with late availability we strongly recommend advertising it NOW by logging on and uploading a special offer.

Over 70% of enquiries in the past 30 days have been for July, August and September. This is also the time to pitch for families: roughly 2/3rds of enquiries are from groups of 3 or more people, with the remaining third from couples.

The collapse of Goldtrail Holidays (a Turkey package specialist) last Friday has further damaged the reputation of the package holiday industry, making people more amenable to alternatives such as holiday rental accommodation booked direct with the owner.

The past 12 months has been a difficult year for holidaymakers with some high profile failures and then the disastrous ash cloud, when many travel insurance policies were shown to be worse than useless.

The key for anybody selling holidays in this environment is to provide good value and build trust with guests. Our AdScore system and identity checks have gone a long way to bridging this gap with renters by encouraging less opaque payment options and proof that owners are who they say they are.

Most advertisers have responded extremely well and are seeing higher enquiry levels as a result. Our rates remain around a third of the cost of the global sites so if you make the effort, it's unbeatable value.

Unfortunately there is a hard core who still want international bank transfers (offering no protection for renters) and who refuse to verify their identity - AdScore simply means they get less enquiries and are missing the action. If you STILL haven't reviewed your advertising, we strongly urge you to do so. Our rental guarantee should be enough in itself to warrant the effort - it means free advertising.
