We have given our first website a little update in the last 24 hours and you may have noticed it looks a lot like this blog! (Lanzarote Breaks was the first website we launched back in 2002.)
The update drastically reduces load time and improves the overall speed of the site. Whilst these changes are mostly cosmetic, we feel they're important for a couple of reasons:
We're very aware the web is going mobile; smart phones and NetTops (mini laptops) are proving hugely popular so we want to ensure the site runs well on these devices. By loading faster and sitting better in small screens, the new look works much better for mobile web users.
Also Matt Cutts of Google recently announced that their search engine would use page load time as one of their ranking factors. Since so many people find us this way, it makes sense to make the site as lightweight as possible.
The bottom line is that the changes work better for a wider audience - and that means more interest for our advertisers.
Expect to see España Breaks get the same treatment over the next couple of months.
